Julia Polomski, 93 Chester Resident, active in civic organizations and Beauty Salon Proprietor Julia Polomski, 93, of Chester, a Beauty Salon Proprietor and active member of several civic and religious organizations, died January 16 at Glen Mills Senior Living.
Born in Chester, Ms. Polomski was a beautician and proprietor of her beauty salon in Parkside. She was a very active member in many civic and Polish organizations, serving as financial secretary on the Council of United Polish Societies for several years. She was a member of the Polish Heritage Society of St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church, Pulaski Day Parade Association, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post No, 546, the St. Hedwig's Fatima Sodality, the Polish National Alliance Lodge No. 2351 and the Ladies Auxiliary of Sacred Heart Hospital.
For several years, Ms. Polomski was the chairperson of the annual public commemoration of the May 3, 1791 Polish Constitution Day event held in Historical 1724 Chester Colonial Courthouse. Ms. Polomski was the daughter of the late Veronica (Siwik) and Florian Polomski. She was predeceased by her sister, Bouldie Lipp, and brothers, Frank, Max and Joseph Polomski and by her nephew, Max Polomski, and niece, Christina Cavanagh.
Survivors: She will be missed by several nieces, and nephews: Irene Polomski, Josephine O'Brien, Joanne Day, Joseph Polomski, and Martin Polomski. Mass: 12:00 noon, St. Hedwig's Church, Fourth and Hayes streets, Chester. Visitation: After 10:00 a.m., Kaniefski-Kendus-D'Anjollel Funeral Home, 3900 W. Ninth St., Trainer.
Burial: Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood
