Obituary

Lillian (Babs) Brooks, 69, of Boothwyn (Luther Knolls), and a former longtime Eddystone resident died Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Naamans Creek Country Manor. Born and raised in Chester, PA, Lillian is predeceased by her beloved partner Richard Luick of Eddystone, her parents the late Charles E. Brooks and Mary Lillian (Curry) Brooks, and her dear sister Peggy Brooks.

Lillian was a skillful administrator working many years for the Westinghouse Corporation. In the 1990's she steered her career to healthcare. She particularly enjoyed helping the patients whom she often would say simply needed someone to listen to them. While being efficient in assisting in the operations of a busy Neurosurgeon office, it was the patients who were always her first priority. Lillian loved her family, friends, and her dog. She enjoyed simple pleasures: a good book, crocheting, daily chats with her son Charles, spending time with family youngsters, and supporting her Philadelphia teams (especially the Phillies and the Eagles). She was grateful for the exquisite compassionate care she received from her team at Penn Homecare (Lisa, Kevlin, and Judy), and the caring staff at Naamans Creek Manor (particularly Melissa, Danielle, and Tony). But most of all she was grateful to the devotion of her niece Amy Parkes who tended to her needs and helped her to remain independent these past few years.

Survivors:
She will be lovingly remembered by her son Charles E. Brooks (Magdalena) of Austin, TX, her grandson Christian Brooks of Arizona, her step-grandchildren Megan, Ryan, and Alyssa of Austin, TX, and her step-granddaughter Ava. She will be missed by her sisters: Mary Pat Fleming (Chuck) of Toms River, NJ, Charlotte Rich (Frank) of Wilmington, DE, and Michelle Brooks (Paul Sokoloff) of Glen Mills, PA. All her nieces and nephews will fondly remember their Aunt Babs.

Services: Visitation will be held on Monday January 9th at 8:30 AM at Kaniefski Kendus D'Anjolell Memorial Home, 3900 West 9th Street, Trainer, PA 19061. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Ave., Brookhaven, Pa 19015. Interment immediately following the mass at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA
