Mary Elizabeth Layer nee Czernik "Betty", age 88, passed away at home on December 12, 2016 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Stetyick (Ed), her loving children, son, Robert Layer, and her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Donald Smith. She is the wife of the late George Layer who passed in 2010. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and had a strong devotion to her Catholic Faith. Relatives and friends are invited to her calling after 10am Friday, December 16, 2016 at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Road, Brookhaven, PA where as an 11am funeral mass will be held. Burial to follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. The family requests that no flowers be sent. A special thanks to Gail Morrison and Joanne Walchuk for their loving care.
