WIZNIAK

Wiera "Vera," (nee Morozowa) age 99, of Wallingford, PA, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023.

Predeceased by her husband Stefan Wizniak.

She is survived by her three children, Adele Tancini, Irene Leichliter and Victor Wizniak, along with her eight grandchildren, Valerie, Heather, Tara, Taura, Kurt, Tess, Ashley, Amy and also her 11 great-grandchildren, Jamie Leigh, Joey, Nicki, Kyle, Quinn, Patrick, Aurora, Krish, Jason, Evie and Rosie.

Vera was born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine.  She was taken from her home by the Nazis in WWII at the age of 18 to work in a labour camp. Near the end of the war, she met Stefan. They immigrated to England, then married, and lived there for four years.  Wanting to be near Stefan's brother and family, they boarded the ocean liner, Britannica, and moved to Chester, Pennsylvania.  Eventually they moved to Wallingford where they raised their three children.  Vera loved the opera, ballet, classical music and painting.  She was an artist who later worked at the Franklin Mint before retiring in Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania.  She loved her family and chihuahuas and was a phenomenal cook and baker.  To her children she was "mom" but to everyone else she was "Baba"………..she will be missed dearly.

Relatives & friends are invited to her visitation Tuesday, October 17th at Holy Myrrh-Bearer's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 900 Fairview Rd, Swarthmore, PA 19081 from 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM, followed by her Funeral Service at 10:00 AM,  ALL IN CHURCH.  Immediately afterwards, interment will be at Lawn Croft Cemetery 1000 W.
